Our Story

It all began with an honest confession.

It was summer 2024, and we were having one of those conversations that ministry leaders aren't supposed to have. You know the kind—where you admit that the people you love are walking away, and maybe, just maybe, some of their concerns are valid.

We’d all been hearing the same feedback. The complaints stung because they felt true:

  • "We're tired of lectures without interaction."
  • "Lots of people in church leadership are really messed up."
  • "Churches only meet the needs of people who fit inside one neat cultural box."
  • "Nobody tells us how faith actually helps with real issues like emotional health, gender, race, finances and relationships."

But we'd also experienced the power of Christ working in our own complex, multicultural lives. We knew there were emotionally healthy churches out there where multicultural people could ask hard questions. Where people could be open about their failures, yet have hope for healing.

We wanted everyone to experience Christ and the church as we had. But how to share that message with small pockets of young people scattered everywhere?

In January 2025, Cross-Cultural Voices was born. We began sharing weekly podcasts featuring the kind of people we wished we'd heard from growing up—pastors and counselors, but also electricians, nurses, and students. People from different ethnic backgrounds and denominational traditions, all committed to historic Christian faith and morality, but willing to wrestle with how it applies to real life in a multicultural world.

Cross-Cultural Voices is a division of our parent nonprofit, Immigrant Ministry Connections. You can learn about our history, leadership, and beliefs on our website.

Our ministries are entirely funded by generous donors like you. As that team of supporters grew, we added a weekly blog and an interactive Facebook group. As our team of contributors and donors continues to grow, we want to create more spaces for interactive faith conversations that don’t require you to check your hard questions at the door.

You can become part of our ongoing story by subscribing to our podcast or blog, sharing them with your friends, and giving to the ongoing support of our resources.
